Kisspeptin-10 is a lab-made peptide that acts at the top of the reproductive hormone axis: it tells the brain to release the signal that drives LH, FSH, and downstream testosterone. Unlike most compounds in this category, a good share of its evidence comes from actual human studies, much of it out of Imperial College London, including work on low sexual desire. It still isn't FDA-approved, and its very short half-life makes the dosing it's sold for more complicated than the simple numbers suggest. The practical questions are how it's actually prepared and how to tell a real source from a scam.

What is Kisspeptin-10?
A ten-amino-acid synthetic fragment that binds KISS1R on hypothalamic GnRH neurons, switching on the body's own LH, FSH, and downstream sex hormones; not FDA-approved.
Kisspeptin-10 is a peptide, a short chain of amino acids, the same building blocks that make up every protein in your body. This one is ten amino acids long, which is where the name comes from. It's a fragment of a larger natural protein called kisspeptin, encoded by the KISS1 gene, and the body makes its own versions to run the reproductive system.
What makes it interesting is where it acts. Kisspeptin-10 binds a receptor called KISS1R on the GnRH neurons in the hypothalamus, the cells that sit at the very top of the reproductive hormone chain. When those neurons fire, they release GnRH, which tells the pituitary to put out LH and FSH, which in turn drive testosterone in men and the ovarian cycle in women. So Kisspeptin-10 isn't a hormone you're adding to the system; it's a switch upstream of the hormones, nudging the body to release its own.
The version sold online is synthetic, built in a lab from that ten-amino-acid sequence rather than extracted from anything. It's the same fragment researchers have used in human studies, which is less common in this corner of the market than you'd expect.
What is it studied for?
An Imperial College London group has dosed over 500 men and women, so the open question is whether home dosing reproduces the controlled-trial results.
This is one of the few peptides in the recovery-and-optimization market with a real human research base. Much of it comes from a group at Imperial College London, who have given kisspeptin to more than 500 men and women across multiple trials. That changes the usual caveat: the question here isn't whether it does anything in people, it's whether the way it's sold and self-administered reproduces what the controlled studies showed.

The mechanism is unusually well characterized for this category. The KISS1R-to-GnRH pathway is mapped, and the hormone responses are reproducible in a clinic. Whether intermittent subcutaneous dosing at home delivers the same downstream result is the open part of the story.

How to reconstitute Kisspeptin-10
Handle this less-stable peptide gently; a 5 mg vial in 2.5 mL gives 2 mg/mL, so 5 units on a U-100 syringe is 100 mcg.
Your vial arrives as a small puck of freeze-dried powder. Before it can be drawn into a syringe, it has to be mixed into a liquid, a step called reconstitution. Kisspeptin-10 is on the less stable side as peptides go, so handling it gently matters more than usual.
- Wipe the rubber stopper with an alcohol swab first, every time.
- Use bacteriostatic water, not plain sterile water and not saline. The trace of benzyl alcohol in it holds back bacteria, which matters because you'll be drawing from the same vial over time.
- Add the water slowly, running it down the inside glass wall. Don't blast it straight onto the powder.
- Don't shake it. Swirl gently and let it dissolve on its own. Shaking foams the solution and can damage the peptide.
A common setup is a 5 mg vial mixed with 2.5 mL of bacteriostatic water, which gives 2 mg/mL. On a U-100 insulin syringe, 5 units is then 100 mcg. The controlled human work used intravenous boluses dosed by weight, with LH responses climbing up to about 1 mcg/kg, where the effect maxed out. The match is convenient but not the same thing: an IV bolus and a subcutaneous injection don't deliver the peptide to the bloodstream the same way.
Timing and pulses
Kisspeptin-10 clears the blood fast, on the order of minutes, far faster than peptides like BPC-157. That short life is why the studies that sustained a hormonal effect used continuous infusion rather than one shot, and why home protocols tend to favor smaller, spaced doses meant to mimic the body's natural pulses rather than one large injection. The body's own kisspeptin works in rhythmic bursts, and flooding the receptor steadily can actually desensitize it, which is the opposite of what you want.
Cycling
Because of the desensitization risk, this isn't framed as something to run continuously at a fixed dose for months. Reports lean toward short, intermittent courses with breaks, rather than daily-forever use. The exact schedules vary widely from source to source, which itself tells you how soft these numbers are.

Sealed powder keeps for months, but this peptide degrades easily in solution, so refrigerate the mixed vial, use within 2–4 weeks, and avoid repeated freeze-thaw.
That limit is partly about contamination and partly about potency — this peptide is prone to degrading in solution, so keep it cold and out of light, and some users aliquot and freeze it to slow that down. Reconstitute with plain sterile water instead of bacteriostatic and you drop to a day or two, since there's no preservative holding bacteria back.
Don't repeatedly freeze-thaw a working vial, keep it out of direct light, write the mix date on the label, and throw it out if the solution ever turns cloudy or discolored, whatever the date says.
Side effects & safety
Trials show a clean record with flushing most common, but it's banned at all times for male athletes under WADA's S2 since 2024.
Across the clinical trials, kisspeptin has had a clean safety record, with no serious adverse events reported in healthy volunteers. That's a stronger statement than can be made for most peptides in this market, though it still comes from supervised research settings rather than unsupervised home use.

And the biggest risk for non-athletes here isn't really the molecule, which has been through real human trials. It's whether what's in the vial is actually Kisspeptin-10, at the strength on the label. That comes down to where you buy it.
How to vet a source
A short, less-stable peptide is easy to degrade or short undetectably, so demand a batch-specific third-party COA matched to your vial's lot number.
This is an unregulated market, and a real share of independently tested vials come back underdosed, impure, or not even the compound on the label. With Kisspeptin-10 that gap is especially frustrating, because the compound itself has genuine human evidence behind it, and a junk vial throws all of that away.
